One night in 2004ish, no bands showed up for a show at 1919 Hemphill. Alex and I, who barely knew each other at the time, just improvised song songs with a drum snare and an acoustic guitar. The (very tiny) crowd went wild.
We took some of those songs and turned them into real songs with the goal of performing shows outside, in downtown Fort Worth, or at other peoples shows. The best way to describe our band was "Anti-Folk-Punk". Although at the time, I liked folk punk. It was just way too over-saturated.
We recorded this at my house with Alex's four-track with various friends dropping by. We played for about a year and had a farewell show, followed by a reunion show a month later. Our last show was with a full drum set and an electric guitar. It was fun and for a while Alex would say it was his best band. He has gone on to do many more bands. Honestly, too many to mention. But he is currently on tour with his band Teal Stripe.
